11 Just Really Good Lyrics
As a writer, music enthusiast and (v amateur) singer, I’ve always had a penchant for good lyrics. The ones you really can feel, tattooed on your mind, resonant and reverberant. But, I’ve never been a songwriter nor a poet, so I have so much respect for those who can not only string together melodies and stories, but also distill them into turns of phrase that make up lyrical prose.
Think about it - as an artist of any kind, not only do you have to live through sharp experiences - the manic peaks and dark valleys of life - but then you have to put it down on paper and relive it enough to write about it. Artists in essence immortalize their pain, and if it resonates, they perform it over and over again. Experience becomes art, canonized for the world to inhale.
